Why We Charge A Fee for this Website

If you spend time looking you will find that there is a lot of free content on this website, but other pages are restricted to subscribers.

The reason for this is simple: We have spent a LOT of time and money in this ministry (literally tens of thousands of dollars) and we would like to get some kind of return. We would also like to know that the people who appreciate this content are also prepared to make a small committment to us in support of what we are doing.

In 2004 we launched this website and the printed version of Worldview Interactive magazine. We distributed 20,000 free copies of Issue One throughout Australia and followed up with Issue 2, which we sent to subscribers in Australia. We distributed the remaining copies of Issue Two for free in Africa. We estimate that the total readership of these two magazines would be many tens of thousands of people, and our website has consistently been getting about 2000 visitors per month. But in all of this we have received an appauling level of support (a lack of support) from those to whom we are attempting to bless. Occasionally we get good feedback and encouraging words, but nothing that has come close to a rock-solid committment of support from people who believe in what we are doing. There have been a few exceptions.

The Bible clearly teaches that those who preach the gospel are entitled to make their living from it, and Paul commented that those who serve in the army do not serve at their own expense. While we believe whole-heartedly that the gospel is free and that the message should be free to all, it's not wrong to expect some support from those who also call themselves members of the family of God. But even though we ask for a contribution in return for accessing some of our website content, we are not mercinary about it. All we ask is for a small committment, and if someone asks us for free access because they genuinely can't afford it, well... we haven't refused anyone yet!
